I have been in love with this kitchen since I first saw it on House Beautiful ages ago. It is TINY, but it's so amazingly designed, you're not even paying attention to its size. It belongs in designer Stephanie Stokes' NYC apartment. Of course. Where else but New York would you find something like this? The mirrored backsplash is genius. It makes the walls disappear, giving the illusion of a much larger space. The simple white cabinetry combined with the green marble counter top and gold hardware achieves an elegant, timeless look.

Stephanie designed a place for everything, including her spices. I love the tiny shelves on either side of the drawers for storing trays and cookbooks.

Her pantry consists of a couple of pull-out cabinets. Much more space efficient! The glass on the china cabinet doors also help achieve the illusion of a much greater space.

So you can get a clearer picture of just how small this kitchen is, take a look at the floor! She had an artisan carve her family crest on the wood as a way of making a personal imprint on her design. Great idea!
This project is the perfect example of how small spaces can be beautiful and functional. For the full story, click here. If you wish to see another example of tiny spaces done right, then read this post. What do you think of small spaces now?images: Eric Piasecki for House Beautiful
